I have always decorated my houses with the latest fabric, styles, and accessorized them in trendy colors so that they would sell when the time came. That's just what we did. Jeff and I have been known for buying houses, fixing them up as we go along, selling them, and then starting all over again.
But this time I'm fixing this house up for us, in the colors that WE want, and figure selling is a coat of paint away if the time and right property comes available. Hence my turquoise front door and brightly colored outdoor rugs.
I spent days painting the porch rails and cleaning up this past week. Jeff's comment when he came home was,"Well, it is bright..... I think I like it!" Now to just get that right coach lamp fixed!
This project was started in 2015 when Darci and I were getting ready to teach a class at ARW. We spent a few days in the studio making the backs of the cabinets for all the class kits. Darci taught the class and my cabinet stayed unfinished in the MEM warehouse where it quickly became a UFO.
This 2' x 4' cabinet door came from Darci"s remodel.
Check out the fun dancing ladies. These are some of my favorite stencils from Stencil Girl Products. They have a huge line of stencils by so many creative artists!! I think I resonate with these dancing ladies!!
And then there's the yarn... I'll show you next week the new shelving system. In the mean time, I was able to get some of the yarn wound and ready to dye and took advantage of the nice weather and the porch outside the studio.
More on this project next week! There's lots of yarn to dye and I'll be sharing the process as I go along.
One of my customers absolutely loved the two coral Santa Fe Garden Accent Chairs that I delivered to Crescent Hill TRADING COMPANY
but the colors didn't work for her. So, I've been on a hunt for a chair style that would work for her. It's amazing that you see that style of chair in every antique store around until you actually need one! I shopped The Paisley Pig and Operation Care in Shelbyville but still didn't find what I needed. But there were lots of other great items in these stores if you get time to get out and shop!
