I am playing with tunic and top designs for the Funky Fibers line and am trying to take several different ideas to put into a one of a kind garment that will be appealing to all.... which is about impossible!
I try to start with a basic shape that might fit several different body types and then add the embellishments and fun stuff to make it special.
This past week as I was working on several tunic designs for the Open House, I was fortunate enough to have a group of wonderful women in the STUDIO taking jewelry classes with guest artist Deb Guess. I would create a "basic shape" in my upstairs workroom and then go down to the STUDIO for a critique. (They didn't know when they signed up to make jewelry that they would be clothing models and designers too). It didn't take long to know what they were thinking by the expression on their faces!
In the end we came out with several fun pieces that I was pleased with... and so were the critique gallery :) ! Which one do you like??
My husband and I have decided to double the size of our booth at the Florida Delray Affair show in April. This will require a LOT of product to sell to break even, so I will start creating purses and clothing like crazy now. The best part about it is that there are no rules!! I get to make and create whatever I want!! You will have to stop by and check out all the new items for sale!!
The Open House is under way! We rush and rush to get things done for the Open House and then, when it's done, I like to walk away. I love to create and design but I don't like to be the center of attention or to hear the comments, good or bad. I learned early with my designs and art, no matter what it is that I do, I create mostly out of what is pleasing to me. The fact that it's fun and I can share it with you is just an added bonus. I hope you can find a form of art that makes you happy.... and that you can play for your enjoyment!
The critique clan will be coming to play with our looms and weaving, so I'm looking forward to this get-together!!
