I spent the last few days trying to get this ottoman 'just right' before it makes its way to Florida. The flamingos were appliquéd on the natural colored panels and then the other fabrics were pieced around. It takes awhile to get it just right when it is one-of-a-kind piece but I love the way this one turned out.
I took advantage of one of the warmer days to spray the ottoman checkers outside. Who says that checkers can't be square?!!
You can't see the details in this picture, but there are three small Black dots on each side and a square of the opposite checker's color in each corner. They really came out cute!
Here is one of the chairs that goes along with the ottoman. Love this style for a little accent chair. This chair, unlike the old ones that I remake, can be ordered in whatever colors or design we choose.
Each chair is different and unique, using the fabrics the customer chooses. I get a good feel for what the customer likes and begin my design from there.
Sounds like you need to tell Santa you'd like to have one designed just for you!!
Speaking of furniture... I'm so excited that I just sold my first piece of furniture on Etsy the other day. Another one of my ottomans moving to Florida! I was ready to disable our FunkyFibersKY Etsy site when Maritess moved, but then this happened. Now I think I may have to learn how to run the Etsy site!!
Here's another playful pillow that matches my new great room design. This is a dropped fiber pillow that I made. Have you ever tried this technique? It's really very simple and gives a very fun and artsy look to the finished product. Let me know if you would like instructions on how to make this.
Looky, looky what I found! I love these chairs I found at "Reclaimed on Main", a great shopping mall on Main street, in with the Harvest Cafe... The chairs are heavy as lead and I watched them for awhile trying to decide what I would do with them. So, I decided to buy them and put them on my front porch.
I just recently rented space at "Reclaimed on Main" and am looking forward to getting some displays set up and new projects ready for sale. If you have time, stop by over the holidays and check them out!!
I make no bones about the fact that I don't like cold weather. Period. The End. BUT... Look at this beautiful spiderweb outside the back door of the store. It was just a little frosted and really stood out against the frozen greenery. Just enough to make us smile as we started the day and almost enough to say that winter has a few good points.
I hope you are able to take a little time to enjoy the hustle and bustle of the holidays. See if you can find that little bit of time to slow down and "smell the roses" or watch for frosty cobwebs!!
